Why do we call our house ‘Le Nid Pennol’ ?
Well, a ‘nid’ (nest in French) is a cosy place to be.
Also, the house is situated above the village of Penne, whose inhabitants are known as ‘Pennols’. The medieval castel towers above the village from its lofty, rocky spur – rather like an eagle’s eyrie or nest.
A word from Muriel, your hostess.
As I approached the age of 50, I had 3 dreams that had been occupying my mind for some time – opening a guesthouse is the last of these dreams to come to fruition !
I really did fall in love with the house, the village and the departement. And there were several signs that seemed to confirm that I was on the right track…
However, I could never have completed this project if it hadn’t been for my partner, Gilles. He undertook the work that was needed to make the house as comfortable as possible. You’ll certainly come across him in the garden or around the pool when you come to stay !
But that’s enough from me – you’ll have plenty of time to find out more when you get here !
